Parental Insightfulness Professor David Oppenheim

Parental Insightfulness, a measure of Parental  mentalization with regard to the child's inner world, is considered to provicde the foundations for sensitive and emotionally regulating parenting. In this presentation Professor Oppenheim will review what we mean by insightfulness and describe its assessment  using a video replay interview. A review of studies that demonstrate its importance for secure attachement  will be presented. Presentation of a number of studies examining Insightfulness will be presented including with fathers, parents of Autistic children and cross cultural perspective
