A Day With Jane

"It’s such a happiness when good people get together" - Emma

You are invited to join us for a Sunday afternoon escape, an escape into Jane Austen's world. Dust off your best regency era costumes and explore the romance to be had with Jane.

Set in the stunning conservatory at Ayers House, you will meet some Jane Austenesque characters who will escort you to your seats ready for a delightful concert interspersed with readings. Whilst your ears rejoice in the sounds of music (from Jane Austen's family songbooks: sourced from local Jane Historian Gillian Dooley: and songs from the movies and BBC dramas) your taste buds will enjoy an Ayers House High Tea (normally $52).

Whilst your stomach is digesting, there will be a range of activities for you to participate in from sketching, a game of Jane Austen's Sweethearts card game created right here in South Australia, cross stitching, letter writing and playing a game of rhymes with rose!

"To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love" - Pride & Prejudice

If you have always wanted to attend a court dance then you need to wait no longer. Local dance teachers from Step by Step Dance Studio will teach you some court dance steps which you will be able to practice to live music!

A final concert featuring local vocalists Tahlia Ries and Bethany Hill will lead the afternoon to a handsome end.

Indulge yourself by investing $68 on this immersive experience because remember "Selfishness must always be forgiven you know, because there is no hope of a cure." - Mansfield Park

Please note this is a three hour event beginning promptly at 2pm.
