Richard II

Adelaide College of the Arts Acting, Design and Technical Production Students present

Richard II by William Shakespeare

Directed by Terence Crawford

Richard the Second is about politics, and how to govern; about politicians and their ever-wavering loyalties. Richard is a spendthrift, poet, fantasist and megalomaniac. His cousin, Bolingbroke (later, Henry the Fourth) paints himself as a man of the people. He is unimaginative, loyal, callous, and deadly.

Who would you vote for?

And in an election year, these oppositions and confusions remind us that, in politics, little changes over the centuries.

Who will you vote for?
