EDDI READER AND BAND

TRINITY SESSIONS PRESENTS EDDI READER AND BAND IN CONCERT with guests The Borderers. MUSIC 6PM DOORS 5.30PM

Exclusive and only SA Show to launch new album VAGABOND

“Eddi Reader is one of my favourite singers of all time.”  Jools Holland

Eddi Reader one of the world’s finest vocalists, is delighted to be performing for the first time for the Trinity Sessions  to launch her stunning new album Vagabond.  She will be performing new songs to once again reveal her passion for music in every beat, note and lyric, and of course perform all time favourites from the Songs of Robert Burns and her extraordinary back catalogue.

In 2012 Eddi Reader toured Australia and sold out across the board where she captivated and enchanted audiences. In 2014 she is delighted to be returning and perform in quartet mode.
From the heady days in the 80s with Fairground Attraction and the worldwide hit Perfect, to her stunning interpretations of the Songs of Robert Burns for which she was awarded an MBE, Eddi continues to shine as an artist. Her vocal range is extraordinary, her live performances second to none. From the traditional to the contemporary, Eddi brings joyous life to all forms of song.  Her taste in co-writers, writers, songs and players is impeccable and anything with her name on it is guaranteed musical treasure.  Whilst the perfection of her technique is widely acknowledged, what sets Reader apart is the depth and quality of the emotional performance;  her ability not only to move the listener but to connect her experience to that of her audience.  Her passion and instinct move people in a way reminiscent of those who have influenced her work.  Her rare blend of meltingly true vocals and towering romanticism combine with an astute and pragmatic nature to make her a unique and powerful figure in contemporary British music.  She has effortlessly developed into one of popular music’s most thrilling and affecting performers.
Her new songs reveal her passion for music in every beat, note and lyric.

Eddi says of her new album; “There’s an American songbook jazz flavour but there’s lots of folk roots within it because I’m a busker really. A lot of my attraction to music goes through American standards coming then to the Scottish experience which is singing around the fire.”

Eddi will perform with three superb artists in their own right in Boo Hewerdine, Alan Kelly and Ian Carr.

Supporting Eddi will be one of Adelaide's favourites; The Borderers making it a very special night on the Adelaide music calendar.
