AAIMHI WA AGM and seminar with Dr Julie Stone
LOOKING BACK, LOOKING FORWARD – LESSONS FROM THE FIELD
PRESENTED BY DR JULIE STONE
As she approaches retirement, Julie will draw on her work as an infant child and family psychiatrist, reflecting on the lessons she has learned about engaging and supporting colleagues and families to help them think about and facilitate the emotional development and wellbeing of babies and toddlers.
Julie is an infant, child and family psychiatrist is a Churchill Fellow in 2001 and who was the first Australian Fellow of Zero to Three. She began her work in WA and who moved to Victoria more than a decade ago. Over the years Julie's work as a Consultant has included roles within urban and rural Child and Youth Mental Health Services in WA and in Victoria.
She also provides infant mental health training and reflective practice supervision to a wide range of professional groups, organisations and clinicians. In 2014 Julie helped establish a Parent Infant Unit in the Latrobe Valley - Victoria's first rural in-patient perinatal service - and wrote the thinking framework to guide therapeutic practice within the unit. She has a special interest in supporting and encouraging the professional development of all colleagues who work with young children and families.
