Floating Melodies - Way of Tea

Upon the river

Listen taste feel experience

Tea ceremony

Modern lifestyles can be exhilarating and sometimes very tiresome. Take out a moment to catch your breath and be still with our Way of Tea ceremony. See the Torrens river stream by as we pause to float along the water. Taste the traditionally prepared matcha tea. Hear the sounds of the native bird life while listening to the soothing sounds of traditional instruments - the koto and shakuhachiExperience the ceremony that is centuries old.

Upon arrival you will be seated with no more than five others on your table, making this years ceremony much more intimate. Your host will make the tea in your presence and there will be demonstration and instruction on how to partake in the ceremony and its traditions so you may enjoy it to fullest. You will receive knowledge about the pottery from which you drink. All guests participate in tea and sweet.

There could be nothing more serene on a Sunday afternoon. Your time on board is yours. No rush and nothing required of you but to relax.

The cruise and concert lasts for one hour and fifteen minutes.

Bookings are strictly limited and essential to ensure you get a personal experience. I recommend booking early as these ceremonies were very popular and sold out quickly in 2014's Oz Asia Festival. Stay afterwards for the fireworks and moonlantern festival at Elder Park.

Featuring local musicians David Kotlowy and Mayumi Kako.
