Much Ado About Nothing

Adelaide College of the Arts Acting, Design and Technical Production Students present:

Much Ado About Nothing

Directed by: Terence Crawford

Assistant Director: Jane Mahady

Music composed and played by: Quentin Grant

No lover story in all of Shakespeare is as joyful and celebratory as that of Beatrice and Benedick, and no comedy more deeply satisfying than Much Ado About Nothing.

Beatrice and Benedick begin as two ‘confirmed singles’ with a shared casual sexual past, who—over the course of the play—come to understand that they are meant for each other. They truly earn their love, and along the way they earn ours.

Much Ado About Nothing is among Shakespeare’s masterpieces: at once a delightful love comedy; a home for one of his great comic inventions, the outrageous Dogberry; and an agonising drama of power and abuse.

This production features the graduating class of ACArts actors (along with four second year students) directed by Terence Crawford, and is privileged with an original musical score, played live by the composer, Quentin Grant (When the Rain Stops Falling, Summer of the Seventeenth Doll).
