Family Inclusive Mental Health Practice - 13 May 2014

This workshop will build skills and confidence in including families in our thinking and in our contact with consumers of mental health services.  This includes encouraging consumers to develop their connection and their reciprocity with those close to them.  This is particularly pertinent for your adults experiencing mental health problems.  The workshop draws on systemic and dialogic approaches, and will include discussion of the value of the collaborative and contextualizing perspectives of social work in mental health terms.

Aims of the workshop:

¨ To critically examine the factors which tend to maintain practice at an individual level

¨ To develop skills in facilitating consumers’ to be more connected to their families and friends in reciprocal ways and in working directly with families to enable this
