Can’t Stop the Serenity is a global charity event, which features a screening of Joss Whedon’s 2005 film Serenity, to raise money for the charity Equality Now.

Sydney’s 2010 Can’t Stop the Serenity event is on Saturday the 26th of June, from 1:30pm – 6:00pm. Its being held at the Main Tower Building, at the University of Technology Sydney, 15 Broadway, Ultimo.

The event includes a live Auction (prizes to be announced closer to the date), a Raffle, an Afternoon Tea Bake Sale, and of course, Serenity on the big screen!

Tickets are $15 if you pre-order them (at this very website), and $20 at the door.

All proceeds go to Equality Now – a global charity working with national human rights organizations and individual activists to document violence and discrimination against women and mobilise international action to stop human rights abuses.

UPDATE: 25% of proceeds will now be going to White Ribbon Day, a national campaign to get all Australian men and boys to take a positive action and put an end to one of the most widespread human rights abuses taking place in our country – violence against women.
